Our Club
Acton CC, founded in 1908, is one of Middlesex’s leading cricket clubs, fielding four competitive teams (and often a friendly 5th XI) on a Saturday and two teams on a Sunday. We are ECB Clubmark Accredited.
We are one of London’s most centrally located clubs and enjoy unparalleled playing and training facilities at our home in West London.
Acton CC has built its success through its thriving juniors section, with more than 120 boys and girls ranging from the Under 9s to the Under 17s. The club’s Juniors’ Section, supervised and supported by qualified coaches and the club’s senior players, caters for all abilities and ages.
Acton’s 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th XIs compete the Middlesex County League, one of the strongest and best run cricket leagues in the country. We also field a Sunday Under 21 side in the Middlesex Development League.
Off the field, Acton CC prides itself on its friendly, supportive, inclusive, and fun culture and team spirit, which has been at the core of the club’s progress in recent years.
As an affiliated club to Middlesex Cricket, all clubs will adopt the ECB’s In Safe Hands and ECB Anti-Discrimination Policy, policy details can be found here ECB-Safe-Hands-Policy-Statement-Dec-22.pdf and ECB_Anti-Discrimination_Code_2022_v5-1-.pdf.

Club Development Plan
Planning for the future
Our Club in 2024
Acton Cricket Club (ACC) is one of Middlesex’s leading cricket clubs. However, it is not a position we take for granted, and we are continuing to look for ways to improve facilities for our existing members and lay the groundwork for the club to thrive over the next few decades.
ACC is run by an active committee with members from all areas of the club. The committee meets on a regular basis to keep the club ticking on a day to day basis, but major decisions are taken to the AGM for the club members to decide upon.
Ground and Facilities
In 2023, the club opened the doors of its brand new pavilion, which it has access to through its founder membership in the Acton Sports Club. The new pavilion means that the club now enjoys some of the finest cricketing facilities in central London.
Juniors
Our Juniors section has always represented not only the key to long-term on-field success at all levels of the club, but is also the club’s single biggest source of revenue. Without a thriving juniors setup, there would be long-term concerns over the future of the club.
A number of the younger juniors are now part of the Middlesex CCC setup and we continue to focus on actively driving our membership, including:
Providing holiday “camps” for juniors of all abilities
Winter training programmes
Improving communication and administration
On top of this we are opening the door to a mixed age girls team and have just secured two adult females to assist.
Retention amongst the older age groups (15 to 19 year olds) is a challenge, as it is for many clubs, but we have done some winter recruitment amongst the football clubs on-site and we are hoping this will bear some fruit and improve our squad numbers.
Senior cricket
2023 saw a very strong season for our senior sides. The 1st XI cemented their position towards the top end of division 1 of the Middlesex County League, and reached the Middlesex Cup Final. The 2nd XI and 3rd XIs consolidated in the premier league, while the 4th XIs established itself as a top-10 fourth grade side in the county. The 1st XI’s success remains crucial, as it is mainly the metric by which a cricket club is judged. We have also launched a Middlesex Development League side, which has enjoyed great success in its first two seasons.
We are continuing to promote younger, talented members into the senior sides and hopefully they will all develop into good club cricketers. We are very aware of the benefits of home grown-talent as the promotion team that made the Premier League in 2010 had nine former club juniors in the team. Plans are for the current squad to help the 1st XI return to the Premier Division in the near future.
We conduct an annual survey of our members and those associated with the club to help guide the Committee’s continuous improvement programme. The results of our 2022 survey can be found HERE.
Thank you as always for your continued support. If you have any feedback, please do not hesitate to contact me or another member of the Committee.
